SLEMAN-In collaboration with Pusbindiklatren Bappenas RI, The Master of Development Economics Program of FEB UGM held a Training of Trainers: Planning and Budgeting Japan Linkage. The training was divided into two parts where the first part was held at Boutique Hotel Yogyakarta starting from August 6-11 2018 and the second part would be held in Japan from August 20-31 2018. By sending the participants to Japan, it was expected that they will gain new knowledge and study the effective and efficient planning and budgeting system in Japan. In addition, the participants were expected to apply it in Indonesia.
These 25 participants of ToT who are lecturers of Indonesian university and the state civil servants, as prospective trainers for the Planning and Budgeting Training were expected to arrange, train and evaluate the materials for the training. “In the process of its implementation, the ToT curriculum is continually being improved, we hope we will get suggestion from the participants to complement the existing curriculum, so that next year it can be even better,” said Dr. Akhmad Makhfatih, M.A. “This ToT is one of our efforts to align the planning and budgeting that is not yet optimal in Indonesia,” added the Chairperson of the MEP FEB UGM in his opening remarks.
Ir. Rohmad Supriyadi, M.Si. as the Head of the Planning, Organization, and Governance Bureau of Pusbindiklatren Bappenas representing the Head of Pusbindiklatren Bappenas said that Bappenas hope that this collaboration can go on continuously in order to produce the trainers who are competent in planning and budgeting. “The purpose of this ToT is not only to produce trainers with the same perception in planning and budgeting, but also to produce trainers who are able to create innovations in planning itself. Because the field of planning is very dynamic as seen from 2004 until now it keeps developing,” claimed Rohmad. “The participants are expected to understand business processes in Bappenas, and also to finish the training in Japan. In addition, you are also expected to learn new knowledge in Japan, why their planning and budgeting processes are always effective. Hopefully with this ToT, a community of trainers can be formed to keep on creating innovations to improve planning and budgeting,” said the Head of Planning, Organization, and Management of Pusbindiklatren Bappenas.
