YOGYAKARTA – The Graduate School of Development Economics Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada (MEP FEB UGM) collaborated with Planner Training Education Center of National Development Planning Agency (Pusbindiklatren BAPPENAS) held substantive training “Planning and Budgeting”. This training aims to improve planner capacity particularly in local level in term of planning and budgeting. There were 26 participants from all around Indonesia participated in this event. This training was one of many trainings held by MEP FEB UGM. Besides, this event was as a form of community service and contribution to improve the local area said Tri Widodo as Chairman of MEP FEB UGM in the opening speech on Monday (16/10).
In the opening ceremony, Budhi Santoso represented Head of Pusbindiklatren Bappenas delivered that Bappenas is focusing to improve the capacity of local government because the local government together with the local people become development actor who have wider role on the local development. Moreover, Bappenas also noticed the role of human capital as asset of local development in Indonesia. Indonesia is not only Jakarta or Java, yet it should be focused on the outside of Java Island because when we only focus on Java Island, imbalance of national development will be happened, he said.
