Workshop of Strategic & Operational Plans and Work Plans & Budgets

In order to integrate the action plan that will be implemented during 2014, the Master Program in Development Economics FEB UGM organized workshop of Strategic & Operational Plans and Work Plans & Budgets, which was attended by Management Executive and Staffs of MEP FEB UGM at Langenbaswara room Jogjakarta Plaza Hotel. Prof. Lincolin Arsyad, Ph.D., as Director of Program Study, accompanied by Bayu Sutikno, S.E., M.S.M., Ph.D., as Deputy Director of Administration and Finance, opened this event. “Small but beautiful and healthy”, said Prof. Lincolin Arsyad, Ph.D in his speech. He added although our organization was small with 28 staffs, we can be beautiful that was reflected by success in each event and activities, and becoming well in financial and organization system.

MEP FEB UGM had a vision of becoming the leading Postgraduate in Southeast Asia that provide intellectual contributions through teaching and research activities in the field of applied economics for society welfare. “It is a beautiful dream but affordable (can be achieved by effort),” said Prof. Lincolin Arsyad, Ph.D. Vision can be achieved with the mission that has been made. MEP FEB UGM’s mission is to educate students to become excellent graduates, conduct advanced research policy, and organizing community service activities through integrated education and research in the field of applied economics for society welfare.

Academic and non-academic became the main target in 2014. Academic field included increasing the quality of academic learning process and the improvement of learning process supporting facilities. Non-academic field consist of improving quality service to all stakeholders and improving staffs’ welfare by incentives, both tangible and intangible. “Everyone is a customer. All should be served, both sections and cross sections,” said Prof. Lincolin Arsyad, Ph.D.

“Financial, human resources, and stuffs’ system are three things that I handle,” said Bayu Sutikno, Ph.D. “Slogan of PASTI will be a guide,” he said. PASTI stands for Professional, Accountable, Simple, Transparent, and Innovative. In addition, Bayu Sutikno, Ph.D. also presented targets and plans that will be implemented throughout 2014.

Presentations per division were also implemented by each Head of Department. Started by Dwi Rining Suprapti; Head of Admission, Alumni, and Public Relation; Tri Agung Nugroho; Head of Academic and Information System; and Agus Kartono Widodo; Head of General, Human Resources and Finance Affairs. Each department identifies the problem, as a breakthrough solution that will be taken, also key indicators to be achieved in 2014. Hopefully the entire scheduled action plan will also result in success.
