About UGM

Matriculation Program

Matriculation program is a compulsory intensive preparatory program for all prospective students with educational background out of economics and other discipline. The purpose of this program is to provide students with basic economic knowledge before they enter the regular class.

Satisfactory completion of the matriculation program requires students to:

  • Obtain a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2,5
  • Have no grade D and E

The core course of Matriculation Program:

  • Microeconomics I
  • Macroeconomics I
  • Management and Financial / Accounting specifically for concentration MAPB
  • Statistics for Economics
  • Mathematical Economics

  • Free Matriculation Program: A candidate can be stated (declared) as a free matriculation student if they graduate majoring in economics field with the following requirements:

    • Having GPA >3.25 scale 4.00 or equivalence, for alumni of Faculty of Economics and Business UGM
    • Having GPA >3.50 scale 4.00 or equivalence, for non-alumni of FEB UGM
    • Obtaining TPA Score certificate with minimum score of 500 and ITP TOEFL with minimum score of 450 or AcEPT with minimum score of 209 from the institutions which are recognized by UGM; or
    • For applicants who do not have the score are required to take the PAP’s test organized by Faculty of Psychology Universitas Gadjah Mada (website:, and AcEPT organized by Pusat Pelatihan Bahasa UGM (website: can be seen in the table selection schedule.
    • Passed the interview.
